Cobol Programmer

Roc Search is currently working with a leading State Agency that is looking for a COBOL Programmer to join their team.

As a COBOL Programmer you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining COBOL-based applications. You will work closely with our IT and business teams to ensure that our systems run efficiently and meet organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance COBOL applications to support business operations.
• Analyze and troubleshoot and debugging existing COBOL code and systems. Ensure the quality and reliability of software.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to gather and define requirements.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for system modifications and enhancements.

Desired Skills Include:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 9 years of professional experience as a Programmer with COBOL
• Experience with other programming languages and technologies, such as DB2.
• Proven experience as a COBOL Programmer or similar role including knowledge of COBOL II and COBOL/400.
• Experience with mainframe environments, such as IBM or AS/400.
• Ability to work with legacy systems and integrate them with modern technologies.
• PHP experience is a plus

Recap:

Location – Austin, Texas (Hybrid)

W2 Rate – $50-$55/hr

Length – Long term Contract
