Supplier Quality Engineer

GENERAL SUMMARY
It is the responsibility of this position to manage all aspects of the launch of new models/programs and design changes, interface directly with customers, suppliers, and Highly Marelli USA, Inc. production associates to implement supplier improvements, cost reductions, and provide supplier and/or customer support.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Submit customer specific documentation (PPAP, ANPQP, APQP, ISR, etc.) required for the launch of new model/programs and design changes for the supply base.
- Support VA/VE trials, validation, and implementation at Highly Marelli USA, Inc. customer and supplier facilities for the supply base.
- Joint check, tooling and process validation at customer and supplier facilities. Includes domestic and international support.
- Conduct root cause analysis (8D) to improve processes and resolve customer issued corrective action requests.
- Disposition supplier suspect material and request Return Material Authorization Number.
- Support technical training for suppliers as needed.
- Assist in the implementation of manufacturing specifications, assembly procedures, and inspection standards as needed for suppliers.
- Communicates frequently with internal and external contacts on various issues.
- Must follow all company requirements in regard to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This work is performed in a general manufacturing environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The incumbent must:
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related discipline and generally seven plus years of experience in a related field.

- Have a PhD in a related discipline with five plus years of experience in a related field.
- Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
- Have strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and possess the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
- Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.
- Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and/or software.
