Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining the machinery used in the production of steel tubing. This role involves setting up equipment, monitoring production, performing quality checks, and ensuring that all operations are conducted safely and efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Machine Operation:
  • Set up, operate, and monitor machines that cut, shape, and weld steel into tubing.
  • Adjust machine settings to ensure optimal production performance.
  • Continuously monitor machines during operation to detect any issues.


  • Quality Control:
  • Inspect finished tubing to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Measure dimensions and perform tests to verify structural integrity.
  • Identify and report defects or deviations from specifications.


  • Maintenance and Repairs:
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues to minimize downtime.


  • Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment.
  • Follow proper procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Report any safety concerns or hazards to supervisors immediately.


  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, production volumes, and issues encountered.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and quality control personnel to ensure production goals are met.


Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Prior experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment, preferably in steel or metal production.
  • Familiarity with operating and maintaining industrial machinery.


  • Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Technical skills to adjust and troubleshoot machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.


  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Capability to lift and move materials weighing up to [weight] pounds.


  • Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification or training in machine operation is a plus.
