Position Overview:

We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join our growing Data Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data and technology, with a desire to contribute to the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including BigQuery, in the big data space, and play a key role in driving data-driven decision-making within our organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with senior data engineers and data scientists to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand data needs for various projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries and data transformations to support data analytics and reporting requirements.
  • Implement data quality checks and monitoring processes to ensure the reliability and integrity of data.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of data models and schemas to support efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Gain expertise in Google BigQuery and other big data technologies to support the analysis of large datasets.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of new tools and technologies to enhance the capabilities of our data platform.
  • Document data engineering processes and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering concepts and best practices.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases, with a preference for experience with Google BigQuery.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and techniques, such as Apache Airflow or Google Dataflow.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies and frameworks, such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka, is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
