This is an exciting opportunity to join the PMO team as the organization is amid a digital transformation & growth journey. The PM Ops - CI will plan, prioritize, collaborate with Ops teams and execute various continuous improvement projects to improve business results.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Become a business partner for operations management, working with them to identify opportunities, utilizes the DMAIC structure while focusing on People-Process-Data to obtain measurable and sustainable results.
  • Emphasize utilization of Lean (Kaizen, VSM, 5S+) to lead cost improvement analysis and implement actionable, measurable plans
  • Identifies and prioritizes needed changes (process/people) and assess readiness to change and expected impact of change to assist in scoping initiatives and leading change.
  • Anticipates problems, assesses situations, and communicates change.
  • Gain a solid understanding of the Company's key initiatives, competitive priorities, accountabilities and ensure linkage of continuous improvement efforts with these goals.
  • Provide management with updates via tracking reports on project progress, in line with set priority and timing targets.
  • Deliver effective training courses and programs to help increase knowledge and awareness of the Continuous Improvement tools and use of the model. The training should be customized to meet organizational needs and priorities.
  • Utilize skills learned, i.e., Lean techniques, to lead the organization in data based decision making, and driving action to generate measurable improvements. Promote the transformation of a reactive organizational culture to one that is more proactive, utilizing data driven decision-making, and giving priority to preventative actions.
  • Develop and participate in existing awareness programs to promote the use of Continuous improvement and recognize team successes.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely and on-budget completion. Define project scope and communicate updates to senior management.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Document process changes, ensure compliance with standards. Review and update SOPs.
  • Change Management: Develop strategies for productivity projects deployment. Lead change initiatives, aligning with organizational goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Integrate lean principles with various departments. Train and support employees in continuous improvement.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Qualifications:

  • BS degree or equivalent related work experience. Degrees in Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain are preferred but all majors will be considered.
  • This position requires 3-5 years of Lean experience in transportation & logistics
  • 2+ years of project management experience
  • Provide overall direction, implementation, and continuous improvement of Lean systems infrastructure in all phases of transportation & logistics.
  • Candidate must be willing to travel across multiple depots in tristate area.
  • Person must have capabilities to manage multiple tasks at the same time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in CI tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, 5S+, VSM, Kaizen etc
  • Experience in companies with less than 3,000 employees, or divisions of companies that size or less
  • PMP Certification preferred
