Position Overview: The Vice President (VP) of Operations will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day operations of our compound pharmacy, ensuring that all processes are efficient, compliant, and geared towards delivering superior patient care. The VP will lead operational strategy, oversee pharmacy operations, and work closely with other executives to support the company's growth and operational goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:

○    Develop and execute the operational strategy for the pharmacy, aligning with the company's vision and objectives.

○    Collaborate with senior leadership to drive organizational growth, efficiency, and quality improvement initiatives.

○    Provide leadership and direction to pharmacy managers and staff, ensuring consistent application of company policies and procedures.

  1. Operational Management:

○    Oversee the daily operations of the compound pharmacy, including medication preparation, quality control, inventory management, and patient services.

○    Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including USP standards and pharmacy laws.

○    Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  1. Quality Assurance:

○    Develop and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure the highest standards of safety, efficacy, and accuracy in compounded medications.

○    Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

○    Address any quality or safety issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.

  1. Financial Oversight:

○    Develop and manage budgets for pharmacy operations, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are allocated efficiently.

○    Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and implement strategies to optimize cost management and profitability.

  1. Team Leadership and Development:

○    Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

○    Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of pharmacy staff.

  1. Patient Care and Service:

○    Enhance patient satisfaction by ensuring high-quality, personalized care and efficient service delivery.

○    Address patient concerns and feedback to continuously improve service quality and patient outcomes.

  1. Technology and Innovation:

○    Leverage technology to streamline pharmacy operations and improve efficiency.

○    Stay informed about industry trends and advancements, and implement innovative solutions to enhance pharmacy practices.


  1. Stakeholder Engagement:

Qualifications:


●    Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field; PharmD or MBA preferred.

●    At least 5 years in a senior management role.

●    Extensive knowledge of compounded pharmaceuticals, pharmacy regulations, and quality assurance practices.

●    Proven track record of successfully managing pharmacy operations and leading teams.

●    Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost management.

●    Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

●    Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make data-driven decisions.
