Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery


  • Shift/Hours: Typically Monday-Friday, day shifts; 24-hour accountability for service line operations
  • Holiday/Weekend Requirement: As needed; 24-hour accountability for service line operations
  • On Call Requirement: As needed; 24-hour accountability for service line operations


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of patient care in assigned area(s)
  • Coordinate care to meet patient needs
  • Provide clinical and material support to staff
  • Ensure continuous quality improvement and fiscal accountability


Must Haves:

  • Current California RN licensure
  • Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR card
  • C-EFM certification or FMC certification within one year of hire
  • NRP card within 90 days of hire
  • ACLS certification within 90 days of hire
  • Minimum three years nursing experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience


Preferred:

  • Two years of management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience


About the Unit:

  • Beds: 13 labor rooms, 26 post-partum beds, 2 OR suites
  • Patient Population: Women before, during, and after delivery
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: Working towards 1:4
  • Ideal personality: Dedicated to ongoing education and best practices aligned with AWHONN and ACOG
  • MyReports to: Director
