Job Purpose:


Provide individual financial education and coaching for households, living in the Ogden/Weber area, that are working to establish and complete financial goals related to improved credit scores, increased personal savings, and appropriate debt to income levels.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one financial coaching sessions for clients seeking to improve credit scores, debt to income ratios, and personal savings
  • Conduct financial literacy presentations and workshops in a classroom setting
  • Help households to obtain and maintain checking and savings accounts
  • Provide employment coaching such as resume writing, interviewing, job retention and soft skills
  • Assist with curriculum development to adapt to student and community partner needs
  • Build and maintain strategic community partner relationships
  • Promote saving and asset building programs.
  • Teach group workshops throughout the community
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities of Successful Candidates:

  • Good communication skills that include active listening, speech clarity, reading comprehension, and ability to present complicated subject matter to a diverse population
  • Previous experience providing one on one mentoring/coaching
  • Sound understanding of basic personal financial literacy concepts and above average math skills
  • Prior presentation experience in classroom setting for both small and large audiences
  • Basic knowledge of human behavior and methods for motivating people to make change
  • Prior experience with problem solving, critical thinking, and conflict resolution
  • Working knowledge of technology to create and deliver presentations (MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
  • Teachable
  • Creative thinker/problem solver
Preference May Be Given to Applicants with the Following Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or four years of related experience (Finance, business, banking, or accounting, social work, criminal justice, education, family studies)
  • Spanish speaking a plus, but not required
