Here's some important information about this position:

This job will focus on the day-to-day operations of a key service line within WVU Medicine. Your main tasks will involve identifying ways to increase revenue, managing expenses efficiently, and developing new projects.

You will play a significant role in various business functions, such as overseeing service contracts with external partners, managing projects for implementing new tools and software systems, and analyzing operational metrics essential for departmental success.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSE:

  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience preferred.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct analysis to help leadership improve budgets, reporting findings, and suggesting strategies for any discrepancies.
  • Manage projects with external vendors to introduce new services and software to meet departmental targets. Ensure projects adhere to set timelines, budgets, and scope.
  • Participate in business meetings with internal and external leadership teams, enhancing reporting packages on performance metrics.
  • Handle changes in project scope and deliverables with management, managing expectations accordingly.
  • Analyze revenue reports and suggest enhancements, track the success of revenue initiatives.
  • Summarize expense data, pinpoint opportunities for cost reduction to boost profits.
  • Use analytical techniques to validate data accuracy and relevance.
  • Develop skills in data analytics with various systems and tools.
  • Assist in problem-solving, resolution, and solution design for various business requirements.
  • Act as the primary contact for the department, interacting with hospital leadership and staff to convey business concepts effectively.
  • Identify and report any issues, barriers, or risks to management.
  • Take part in project reviews post-implementation.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Problem-solving skills, making appropriate decisions and recommendations to leadership.
  • Familiarity with healthcare software systems advantageous.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in support of leadership.
