Job Description:

Working with department manager, the RN - Coordinator I provides leadership and clinical expertise on their respective shift and department. They are accountable for coordination of unit resources to ensure that staffing to census and acuity is appropriate both clinically and financially. They function as clinical support for staff and are a role model of competency and professionalism.

You.

You bring your body, mind, heart and spirit to your work as a Charge/ Shift Specialty Coordinator.

Your compassion is tangible: whether your patient is 18 or 85, they feel it in the hand they hold. Families feel it in your prayers. Colleagues feel it in your support.

You know when to move quickly. When to sit quietly. When to laugh loudly.

You're great at what you do, but you want to be part of something even greater. Because you believe that while individuals can be strong, the right team is invincible.

Us.

Good Samaritan Medical Center is part of Intermountain Health, a faith-based, nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. At our 234-bed community hospital, our mission is to bring health and hope to the poor, the vulnerable, our communities and each other. We're especially proud of our people, who helped make us one of America's 100 Best Hospitals according to Healthgrades.

Benefits are one of the ways we encourage health for you and your family. Our generous package includes medical, dental and vision coverage. But health is more than a well-working body: it encompasses body, mind and social well-being. To that end, we've launched a Healthy Living program to address your holistic health. Healthy Living includes financial incentives, digital tools, tobacco cessation, classes, counseling and paid time off. We also offer financial wellness tools and retirement planning.

We.

Together we'll align mission and careers, values and workplace. We'll honor each other's dignity and surpass the standards we set. We'll encourage joy, demand safety and take pride in our integrity.

We'll laugh at each other's jokes (even the bad ones). We'll hello and high five. We'll celebrate milestones and acknowledge the value of spirituality in healing.

We're proud of what we know, which includes how much there is to learn.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday

Weekday Night Shift

8:45pm - 7:15am

No call shifts required

Your day.

As a Shift Specialty Coordinator you know that every day is different, which is why you need to know how to:

Evaluate health status through the collection and assessment of health data.

Perform health teaching and health counseling

Provide therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being either directly to the patient or indirectly through consultation with, delegation to, supervision of, or teaching of others.

Refer patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment.

Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.

Document in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.

Serve as role model, mentor, and supervisor of staff (as identified by manager).

Trouble shoot patient and unit/department problems.

Assure appropriate staff assignments and schedules and seek resources as needed.

Participate in a leadership role in performance improvement activities, new initiatives, and other unit functions.

Participate with the manager in interviewing, hiring, and employee evaluation.

Seek to identify and implement methods to improve financial outcomes.

Communicate pertinent issues with manager, house supervisors, and physicians.

Your experience.

We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:

ASN from an accredited program with the ability to obtain your BSN from an accredited program within 4 years of your hire

Current Colorado RN license or eligibility to obtain

Current BLS and ACLS certifications

At least three (3) years of nursing experience

At least two (2) years of leadership experience preferred

Your next move.

Now that you know more about being a Shift Specialty Coordinator on our team we hope you'll join us. At Good Samaritan Medical Center you'll reaffirm every day how much you love this work, and why you were called to it in the first place.

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
