Job Description Summary:
  • This role is responsible for preparing and passing instruments and equipment for surgical procedures following hospital and department standards.
  • They also assist with patient care needs as delegated by an RN, Physician, or Manager/Supervisor during complex specialty procedures at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills (CSRH-WH), a 150-bed facility in San Antonio.
  • The hospital offers specialized care including orthopedic and surgical services, ICU, women's services, cardiovascular care, emergency services, and more.
  • The campus features an Outpatient Imaging Center and medical plazas housing various healthcare programs.
Requirements:
  • High school graduation or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a surgical technology program is mandatory.
  • Preferably two or more years of experience.
  • Proficiency in scrubbing within multiple specialty areas like Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, etc., is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical environment management is necessary.
Desired Skills:
  • Ability to operate sterilizing equipment, surgical tools, endoscopic equipment, and instrument systems.
  • Team player with strong collaborative skills.
  • Computer proficiency is advantageous.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a surgical setting.
  • Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association essential.
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technology education program and certification required.
