Director of Community Programming

This position is designed to enhance the overall work of the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley by creating educational opportunities and programs that advance interest in the Jewish community and the outside world.

The Director of Community Programming reports to the Director of Development

Duties and Responsibilities:
Create, organize, and implement programs to educate members of our Jewish community on relevant current events topics.
Enhance communication, offer educational opportunities and maintain positive relationships with community lay leaders.
Provide staff support to help develop lay leadership and obtain lay input to increase participation in decision making process.
Provide effective liaison with other departments to promote integration of donor development, marketing, information technology.
Manage the CRC Student2Student initiative, working with teens in our community.
Develop programming that deepens the community's connection with Israel and also strengthens Jewish identity.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Partnership2Gether

  • Manage the P2G committee in the Lehigh Valley.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to manage the P2G committee locally in their work with the committee based in Yoav, Israel.
  • Supervise the Shaliach/Shlicha who works at Camp JCC for seven weeks.
  • Oversee the P2G programs in our community.
  • Manage the P2G budget.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a liaison with Jewish agencies and synagogues to help develop, coordinate, and implement community-wide celebrations including but not limited to:

  • Yom Hazikaron
  • Yom Ha'atzmaut
  • Purim Carnival
  • Hanukkah celebration
  • Super Sunday – Mitzvah Day
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Community Engagement on women's philanthropy and young leadership initiatives, when necessary.

SUPERVISION

The Director of Community Programming is a pivotal role that reports to the Director of Development, functioning under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley.
