Arcadis is seeking aRoadway Design Engineer to join our Mobility team in New York City.

Role description:

As a Roadway Design Engineer, you will support the development and design of infrastructure projects for roadways, including intersections, collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates and interstate interchanges. You may also be required to perform different roles on multi-disciplined projects including technical design of minor project, plan production lead, and assisting Project Managers and lead engineers in the development of design plan submittals.

Role accountabilities:

  • Experience supporting team in making presentations and managing client expectations.
  • Prepare cost estimates, reports and technical memos.
  • Demonstrate excellent, clear, and concise, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to contribute information to meetings, assist with effective client presentations and prepare written reports and meeting minutes.
  • Must have the willingness/ability to work on projects from multiple clients local and out of state.
  • Possess strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills and be a self-motivated, team-oriented and flexible individual with the initiative and ability to tackle new projects, challenges, and concepts.
Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years' of work related post graduate experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • EIT with the ability to obtain PE within a few years.
Key Attributes:
  • Engineering experience with transportation infrastructure design, which may include cost estimates, technical reports, construction plans and project displays.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
  • Familiarity with FHWA, NYSDOT, NYSEDC and other local municipality design standards and policies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4-6 years' experience
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads, ProjectWise preferred.
  • New York State PE
  • Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations
