Job Overview

The Parks & Recreation Assistant role in the Out of School Time Division offers an opportunity for individuals to gain valuable experience in the recreational field. This position involves supporting various recreational programs, activities, and events under the guidance of senior staff members.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior staff to facilitate daily operations of recreational programs.
  • Assist in setting up equipment required for different activities and ensuring proper storage after use.
  • Report any issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Shadow Counselors to learn about program management.
  • Support activities as requested by senior staff members.
  • Participate in special events and other related activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet NH work permit criteria and have completed at least 8th Grade of High School or equivalent.

Required Skills and Knowledge

This position involves specialized duties focused on indoor/outdoor children's programming. Adverse weather conditions may impact the role's complexity. The role plays a crucial part in delivering quality parks and recreation services, contributing to the town's image and enhancing citizens' quality of life.

Part-time positions under 20 hours per week, seasonal, temporary, on-call, or substitute roles do not include fringe benefits.
