Job Title: Student Respiratory Therapy Assistant at Methodist Hospital

Overview:

Are you currently pursuing a Respiratory Therapy program and looking to gain hands-on experience in your field of study? The position of Student-Respiratory Therapy Assistant (RTA) at Methodist Hospital could be the perfect fit for you.

Our RTA positions offer Respiratory students the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include starting and discontinuing therapies for patients, understanding patient record keeping, and learning to utilize Respiratory Therapy equipment effectively.

In addition to acquiring clinical knowledge and experience, our RTAs have the potential to transition into official Registered Respiratory Therapy roles at Indiana University Health. This role provides a fantastic chance to witness the various ways Respiratory Therapists positively impact patient lives.

Requirements:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential patient information
  • Basic computer skills and EMR proficiency
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient care
  • Organizational skills
  • Enrollment in a CoARC and regionally accredited respiratory care program
  • Active Respiratory Student Permit from the state of Indiana
  • Healthcare Provider BLS Certification
