Good Harvest Market is Waukesha County's largest independently owned natural and organic grocer. We are seeking to hire both a full-time and a part-time line cook for our onsite restaurant, Hop Harvest & Vine. Flexible availability which includes evenings and weekends is required, with daytime availability needed on Sundays.

Our farm-to-table, community public house restaurant concept includes a bar and updated menu focusing on locally sourced, organic and seasonal ingredients. We serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch and make our menu items from scratch.

  • We pay weekly. Every Friday.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing recipes from our full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus (see link to our menu above)
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety and compliance with health code regulations
  • Proper knife skills, ability to work safely at a fast pace
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Maintain a clean and well stocked kitchen
  • Work well within a team
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience cooking in a restaurant, hotel, or resort
  • Understanding of cooking methods and procedures, and knife handling skills
  • Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and follow cooking directions
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be organized and self-motivated
  • Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and lift, and carry heavy materials
  • Flexible full-time availability, including evenings and weekends

Physical Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years or older.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
  • Must be able to lift and carry weights of between lbs.
  • Requires long periods of standing.
  • Must be able to use heated wrapper.
  • Work involves controlled temperatures, including ovens and freezers.
