What you will be doing?

The Primary Therapist is responsible for providing clinical services and interventions that support overall health and wellbeing.

They offer opportunities for clients to gain knowledge and skills to promote individual growth and sustained recovery from addiction within the framework of BriteLife Recovery's philosophy and objectives.

Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the Primary Therapist will provide addiction treatment services including, but not limited to assessments and individual, group, and family therapy sessions to clients and their families.

What tasks are required?

  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
  • Assess clients using standardized or evidence-based assessment tools and diagnose clients based on DSM-5 criteria.
  • Complete biopsychosocial assessments in a timely manner, as assigned.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop client-centered, recovery-oriented treatment plans that include goals and measurable objectives. Update and revise as indicated.
  • Provide substance abuse treatment services specified in client treatment plans.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the six dimensions of ASAM and produce clinical documentation reflecting client functioning in each of the dimensions as indicated.
  • Collaborate with Case Management on discharge/transfer plans to ensure smooth transition to the appropriate levels of care.
  • As requested by Case Management, contact referral sources to provide case consultation and collaboration.
  • Participate actively and meaningfully in multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Document all services provided (including but not limited to assessments, therapeutic sessions, correspondence, treatment plans, discharge summaries) in the EMR within outlined timeframes.
  • Provide crisis intervention services to clients, as needed.
  • Maintain a professional presentation that is consistent with the philosophy, mission, values, and goals of BriteLife Recovery.
  • Rotation in Family Program, as assigned.
  • Participate in clinical on-call rotation, as assigned.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
What we need from you?

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral health related field required.
  • Working towards licensure and/or drug and alcohol certification.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral health related field strongly preferred.
  • Drug and alcohol certification through state board (CASAC 2, CASAC- A, CASAC- M, CADC, CAADC, ADC, AADC or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Professional clinical license (LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Experience in substance use disorders treatment strongly preferred.
