Clinical Category Manager

The tasks of the Category Manager:
- Collaborate with teams and leverage supplier market landscape to develop an optimal outsourcing strategy and execute competitive agreements
- Utilize agile contract management best practices, along with an understanding of clinical sourcing, and in close collaboration with business partners and in compliance with sourcing strategies for R&D categories of service, to address business needs with suppliers
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure top-notch service levels
- Comprehend business requirements
- Implement and leverage RFX methodology in alignment with the sourcing strategy
- Lead project teams through the sourcing process and provide valuable suggestions and advice on the best approach and practices
- Assist in the evaluation of potential vendors through effective bidding processes and capabilities presentations
- Engage in negotiations and implement competitive commercial conditions with suppliers/CROs
- Support the contracting process through full execution in conjunction with business partners
- Monitor performance and follow up on remediation plans
- Handle negotiations for new and revised work specifications, budgets, payment schedules, and other documents that regulate the activities and performance of contract service providers
- Proactively address issues and assist in issue resolution to uphold study timelines and deliverables
- Collaborate across the Sourcing Strategy and Execution team to ensure the fulfillment of business needs and coherence at all levels within this team's involvement
- Assist designated categories and offer overflow/back-up support across the execution team to maintain consistent work output for business stakeholders
- Provide regular updates and reports
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- Over 10 years of experience in Sourcing/Procurement or vendor management in the pharmaceutical industry
- Previous involvement with CROs and other essential clinical service providers
