GENERAL SURGERY/BARIATRICS/GI/PRE & POST SURGICAL FLOOR - REGISTERED NURSE
3x12 hours per week - 6 month temporary assignment

Unit Summary:
The 39-bed unit is dedicated to providing high-quality pre/post general surgical care as well as managing the Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence. The RN will be responsible for providing patient-focused nursing care to patients with various surgical needs, including Laparoscopic Cholecystectomies, Tracheostomies, kidney and liver transplants, and trauma patients. RNs on this unit can learn about a wide range of surgical procedures and techniques, which can enhance their expertise and contribute to their professional development.
Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience in an acute care setting.About GWUH: GW Hospital is a 385-bed tertiary care, academic medical center located in downtown Washington, DC. Featuring a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Level 3 NICU offers clinical expertise in a variety of areas including cardiac, cancer, neurosciences, women's health, and advanced surgery including robotic and minimally invasive surgery.
