Job Title: Assistant Credit Manager

Job Summary:

The Assistant Credit Manager plays a vital role in the efficient functioning of the Credit Department by utilizing research skills to assess the financial risks associated with potential customers and fostering relationships with sales partners and customers. Additionally, this role oversees the complete credit process for the assigned business segment.



Hours:
Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Responsibilities:
  • Develop relationships with customers within the assigned business segment and collaborate with the designated sales leader to uphold the Company's credit policies.
  • Manage the setup of new customer accounts by processing credit applications and checking credit references for potential customers.
  • Evaluate financial data to determine the creditworthiness of both new and existing customers for setting credit limits.
  • Analyze data and trends by pulling reports in Gartman, providing insights to sales business partners or sales leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Credit Management team to evaluate and suggest adjustments to customer credit limits.
  • Monitor accounts, identify outstanding receivables, and ensure prompt payment collection while maintaining accurate records.
  • Keep track of collection activities and accounts showing deteriorating payment performance, communicating effectively with the Credit Management team.
  • Review and enhance Activity Management processes, proposing improvements and supporting their implementation.
  • Address the Credit HOLD screen promptly to release orders in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with the Credit team to manage the Credit activity calendar efficiently.
  • Engage in assigned ad-hoc projects as required.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong negotiation and customer service skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective time management with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Solid research, analytical, and problems-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain organization while handling a high workload.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree or higher education preferred. 2-3 years of experience in a Credit Analyst role preferred.
  • Familiarity with billing procedures and collections techniques.
  • Prior exposure to ERP or Accounting systems, preferably Gartman (IBM i).

Physical Requirements:
  • Extended periods of desk work and computer usage.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
