Aeronautics, Transportation UAS (drones) - Adjunct Professor

Company: Join our dynamic team at the Aeronautics and Transportation department and immerse yourself in the exciting world of unmanned aircraft systems (drones) as an Adjunct Professor.

Salary: $80.63 per hour (based on lecture hour equivalent)

Basic Function/Overview:
This role is a temporary, hourly as needed position without permanent status.

This recruitment is continuous to establish an applicant pool for part-time, temporary, hourly assignments as the need arises. You might be contacted by the hiring manager for an interview if your profile matches our requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Deliver college-level aeronautics courses covering basic and advanced unmanned aircraft system topics (drones).
  • Guide and support a diverse student population using effective teaching methods.
  • Stay updated on developments in aviation and educational practices.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, program advisory committees, and assessment initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement related programs successfully.
  • Hold office hours, handle paperwork, and maintain timely communication.
  • Be prepared for flexible working hours, including late afternoons, weekends, and evenings.

Minimum Qualifications:
A. Requirements include at least one of the following credentials from a regionally accredited institution:
  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of relevant professional experience OR
  • Associate's degree and six (6) years of relevant professional experience OR
  • An equivalent qualification (subject to an equivalency review) OR
  • California Community College credential for instructor service.

License(s) & Other Requirements:
The role may involve traveling to different locations. If driving, a valid California driver's license is necessary.
