Summary:

Accurately evaluates specimen orders and enter clinicaldata/information into a variety of computer systems (i. e. orderentry, patient demographics and/or results). Identifies any missingor invalid data entry information and take the appropriate actionto correct. Operates automated and semi-automated equipmentaccording to standard operating procedures. Effectively communicatesupply deficiencies to appropriate personnel, includingdeficiencies related to specimens, paperwork, database information,and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Meets expectations of the applicableOneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, orLeader of Leaders.
  • Accurately documentinformation as required, including processing logs, qualitycontrol, and labeling of reagents.
  • Cleans,sanitizes, and maintains laboratory equipment andglassware.
  • Maintains and distributeslaboratory supplies.
  • Packages laboratorybiohazard waste for disposal following established standards andpractices.
  • Maintains laboratory coatsupply
  • Orders, receives, stocks, ships andtracks laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly or schedulingequipment repair or replacement.
  • Tracksequipment calibrations and preventativemaintenance.
  • Maintains inventory of allconsumables and reagents.
  • Assists in arrangingthe disposal of biohazard and chemical waste.
  • Assists with the enforcement of all laboratory policies andprocedures.
  • Assists in enforcing safety aroundPPEs (personal protective equipment's)
  • Followsestablished protocols for safety, infection control, security,compliance, and the use of hazardousmaterials.

Requirements:

  • High School diplomarequired.
  • Associate of Science Degreepreferred.
  • Basic knowledge in the areas ofmicrobiology, immunology or molecular biology and biochemistry asrelated to infectious diseases required.
  • Oneto Three (1-3) years of experience in a clinical laboratory settingrequired.
  • PHLEB – (American Society ofClinical Pathologists) certificationrequired.
