Job Title: Community Director

Job Description:

Basic Function:


As a live-in professional within the Division of Student Success, the Community Director oversees the daily community development and operations for a resident community of up to 600 students. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Residential Life & Housing, the role involves supervising student Resident Advisers.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate Resident Advisers.
  • Develop and enhance a comprehensive Residential Curriculum model under the Assistant Director's guidance.
  • Act as a University Hearing Officer for student conduct proceedings.
  • Be part of the on-call staff rotation to handle policy infractions, crisis situations, and student incidents.
  • Manage and support student needs within the Care Team concerning academic, personal, and housing-related issues.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff and Resident Advisers, maintain programs, and encourage faculty and staff involvement.
  • Manage budgets and coordinate staff efforts with campus partners efficiently.
  • Oversee Hall Councils, plan programs, and manage budgets accordingly.
  • Contribute to division projects and committees as directed.
  • Participate in the growth and development of the Center, Division, and University.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree required, preferably in Higher Education Administration/ Student Affairs/ College Student Personnel.
  • Prior residential life experience at RA or professional levels preferred.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and student engagement skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Basic budgeting and student development understanding are essential.
