Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Service Technician is responsible for ensuring the physical appearance, preventative maintenance, move-in readiness, and ongoing service needs of our apartment communities are a top priority.

Problem Solving and Asset Preservation Ambassador_

  • Deliver timely, clear, and courteous customer service 100% of the time.
  • Proactively care for the physical building and the community by maintaining the plumbing, electrical, HVAC and appliance systems.
  • Respond to service tickets swiftly, document and communicate service status consistently, and prioritize service requests thoughtfully.
  • Build trust and positive rapport with residents by being respectful and empathetic while making repairs in their homes.
  • Know the makeready schedule, monitor apartment vacancies daily and initiate the turnover process in accordance with Company standards.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and safeguard equipment with regular tuneup.
  • Conduct daily community walks, inspecting all areas for cleanliness and safety, and helping to maintain great curb appeal.
  • Collaborate with the leasing and customer experience team by cordially and consistently escalating urgent maintenance related matters and communicating all other community concerns.
  • Contribute to the team's success by achieving individual goals and supporting team goals.

Education and Experience_

  • Minimum 12 years experience in property management or maintenance preferred.
  • Preferred knowledge in HVAC, electrical, appliance, and plumbing repairs. Knowledge of mechanical systems a plus.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance and life safety systems preferred.
  • Exposure to sustainability and environmentally conscious operational building practices.
  • Proficient in the use of common hand and power tools.
  • EPA/CFC Certification where required and/or willingness to acquire certifications after employment.
  • Previous experience with industry specific management software, such as Yardi, preferred.

  • Medium to heavy work requiring prolonged or repeated standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, with frequent lifting and carrying of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Climb vertical ladders and work at heights of varying degrees.
  • Good hand/eye coordination is essential.
  • Must be able to lift and work heavy equipment.
  • Some properties also require driving to various locations. Valid driver's license and insurance are required.

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
