Strategic Staffing Solutions is hiring a Telecom Infrastructure Specialist, Sr for our utility client in Albuquerque, NM.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzes IP Telephony/Network infrastructure needs and contributes to the design, integration, and installation of present and future technology, including communication with vendors regarding available products, enhancements, and services.
- Coordinates tests and evaluates hardware/software to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems.
- Administers and coordinates telecommunications activities concerned with planning, acquisition, design, installation, and maintenance of voice, data, and video equipment and systems for an organization.
- Administers and participates in studies conducted on existing communications systems and equipment, such as present and projected volume of communications, effectiveness, and adequacy of system, and estimated equipment replacement and maintenance costs.
- Provide analysis, planning, design, and execution of IP Telephony/Network infrastructure projects, including maintenance and creation of documentation related to all components.
- Coordinates installation of hardware/software by third parties.
- Develops an emergency plan to deal with a catastrophic event and ensures the plan is updated to meet current business needs.
- Provides all setup, configuration, moves, etc. to support new hires and movement of personnel and offices.
RELATIONSHIPS Key Internal: Telecom Infrastructure Specialist (all levels), IT team members, business units, and all levels of the organization. May interact with other Emera affiliates.
Key External: Contractors and vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Required: High School or General Education Diploma
Licenses/Certifications Required: Cisco CCNA-Voice, Cisco CCNA-Collaboration, or other entry level voice /Telecom certification. Must possess a valid drivers license and meet the acceptable driving record requirements of the Company.
Experience Related Experience Required: Three (3) years of work experience in telecom infrastructure, information technology, Cisco operations and/or IP Telephony.
Proficient with Telephony skills: WAN/Telco carrier products (POTS, ISDN, T1, PRI, DS3, IVR, Cat3/5e/6, SM/MM fiber optics, coax). Proficient with switching: VLAN, Voice VLAN, VTP, STP, PoE, Ether channel, HSRP, Routing Protocols.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA) Required:
Advanced experience with telecom, routing, and switching. Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, SNMP for management of network devices, and OSI with emphasis on the bottom three layers. Expert knowledge of LAN topologies such as switching, fast Ethernet, and virtual LAN. Ability to use network monitoring tools to gather telecom statistics and interpret meaningful information. Working experience with firewalls, Internet VPNs, WAN links, and data center MDS platforms. Ability to identify and evaluate infrastructure needs to justify and recommend solutions. Ability to support all phases of project management, including site planning, installation, migration, and implementation. Ability to work independently and within a team. Excellent verbal, written, organizational, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the capacity to interact with business partners, IT team members, and senior management.
