Job Description

Security Engineer III - REMOTE

The Security Engineer III works to ensure the confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of employee and customer data and of Myriad Cloud, Computing and Network assets. The security engineer will develop, train and implement recognized standards and best practices, working with Company teams to implement those practices and processes that reduce risk and promote compliance with HIPAA requirements. They are responsible to understand and enforce company security policies and to help other teams to understand an implement those policies. A security engineer III will take a leadership role in promoting Company and team success while reducing cyber risk and promote the success of the Company Information Security Program.
Responsibility
  1. Responsible for the management, monitoring and implementation of various security systems and controls including, O365, AWS Cloud Security, vulnerability management, security information and event management (SIEM), Intrusion Detection and prevention, network access controls, network and host based intrusion detection, data loss prevention, end point security, to ensure the organization security is maintained and matured.
  2. Execute security audits, risk assessments, vulnerability testing across all areas of the organization, including Network, Linux, Windows, applications and database environments.
  3. Assesses the security of and makes recommendations for the security of 3rd party vendors. (Vendor Management)
  4. Develops dashboards and metrics that describe security posture.
  5. Work closely with IT Administrators and development engineers to enhance Myriads security posture across the organization.
  6. Perform web application scanning and remediate the results of code scanning tools.
  7. Works with development teams to remediate code and website related vulnerabilities.
  8. Takes a leadership role in identifying, defining and directing resources and other teams to address and resolve cyber related problems.
  9. Have the latitude to perform ad hoc and targeted red teaming actives.
  10. Develop and implement new technologies and solutions to support the business.
  11. May be required to be on call and to address cyber security issues after hours.
Qualifications
  1. BS or BA degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred. Professional Security certifications are strongly desired: CISSP, CISA, CISM, CCSK, etc.
  2. Minimum 5 years' experience in information security architecture, assessment, or control engineering.
  3. Minimum 7 years' experience in a technical role within information technology.
  4. Experience conducting risk assessments and risk management, including strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  5. Experience with technologies including configuration as securing firewalls, network, operation systems, application server, security and various security tools such as AV/EDR.
  6. Experience in scripting/programing (Shell, python, perl, java).
  7. Is able to communicate secure coding standards such as OWASP Top 10
  8. Possess the ability to develop creative solutions to address complex issue.
  9. Successful candidate should have a White hat attitude to help improve our organizations security posture.
  10. Must have the ability to work and communicate with personnel from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience and translate highly technical concepts into plain business English both verbally and in writing.
  11. Must be very familiar with security concepts and common methods of addressing threats and vulnerabilities.
  12. Must be familiar with the security aspects of a broad range of IT technology areas (i.e. Network, Database, Firewalls, Servers, Storage, etc.) and exhibit abilities to comprehend new emerging technologies and quickly assess any risks these new technologies pose to the IT environment.
  13. Should possess a strong working knowledge of LDAP and Active Directory, UNIX, Windows Server and Desktop, Firewalls, Network Access, Databases, Encryption Technology, Security Certificates, Secure Communication (i.e. SSL, SSH, etc.) as related to security.
  14. Will possess at least 2 years of experience working with and resolving cyber and configuration issues in O365 and AWS.
