ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED)

  • Preforms as the primary point of contact for media and partnership inquiries and activities. Will investigate possible media and public relationship opportunities and present opportunities to the Marketing department. The Director of Media & Community Relations maintains the organization's image and identity.
  • The Director of Media & Community Relations will direct and strategize public relations campaigns, manage outside public relations agencies, serve as Agua Caliente Casinos spokesperson, when necessary, edit and copyright marketing collateral across all departments, support partnership and sponsorship arm through public relations efforts, establish and manage strategic media relationships, host media experiences and distribute news.
  • As a key public relations representative of Agua Caliente Casinos, maintaining a professional and positive image for the company is critical. The Director of Media & Community Relations will be providing proficient messaging to the media, will be expected to conduct exceptional professional speaking, and provide strong and optimistic relationships with key external partners.
  • Manages fulfillment and approval process of all contracted internal sponsorship elements including press releases, PA scripts, publications, logo usage, partnership marketing events and materials.
  • Works closely with public relationship and marketing partners and internal departments to create media exposure of first-class experiential opportunities for guests.
  • The Director of Media & Community Relations analyzes ACC's objectives, promotional policies, and needs to build public relations strategies that positively influence public opinion and promote ACC's venues and services.
  • Collaborates with company managers and works with the Tribal Director of Public Relations to identify public trends, and evaluate advertising and other messaging to determine whether it is in sync with the organization and Tribe's public relation efforts.
  • Comply with all applicable Tribal regulations, internal controls and policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Sports Marketing or related field is required.
  • Minimum ten years of experience in Marketing, Corporate Partnerships, Sports Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism, or Corporate Communications is required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above.
  • Must have good knowledge of event coordination.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Must have a flexible schedule to include availability on days, nights, weekends and some holidays.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/workstation for the duration of the shift. Also, may be subjected to a smoke-filled environment.

Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but will escalate when located in the casino environment. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
