Join the County of Santa Barbara's Information Technology Department for a temporary vacancy in Santa Barbara, CA. This role falls under Civil Service Rule 905, specifically an Extra Help Appointment, for peak workloads and specific projects.

Description: Seeking a Help Desk Technician to handle technical support, network administration, computer systems tasks, and other IT-related duties. This is an entry-level position that requires working onsite under supervision and mentorship.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Help Desk Technicians are extra-help, at-will employees closely monitored in their tasks, ensuring work instructions are followed.

Examples of Duties

Under close supervision:
  • Addresses IT help desk calls and resolves issues promptly;
  • Manages IT support tickets and distributes tasks;
  • Assists with computer setups and installations;
  • Supports user account management processes;
  • Handles administrative tasks and visitor reception at the IT department.
