General Function
The academic support teacher will assist the regular classroom instructor to meet the needs of a diverse student population. The support teacher may work as a one-to-one tutor, small group instruction, or assist with whole class instruction.
Description of Primary Duties
- one-to-one or small group remediation
- one-to-one or small group enrichment activities
- substitute teaching when needed
- assist with whole group instruction
- administer assessments one-on-one and in small groups
- assist teacher with classroom tasks as needed
A Bachelor's degree is required. Prior experience working with elementary age students is required. Teacher certification is preferred.
