Job Summary

As the mHealth Operations Manager & Software Engineer at the Center for Human Health & Performance (CH2P) within the Institute for Applied Life Sciences (IALS), you will be responsible for overseeing engineering activities at the mHealth Facility. This facility, part of CH2P, offers essential resources for in-lab and remote studies utilizing advanced technologies to evaluate physiological, biomechanical, and behavioral outcomes related to aging, disease, and human performance. In collaboration with the mHealth Core Facility leadership, you will establish operational protocols, work on project requirements with users, and engage with fellow engineers and developers. Furthermore, you will support the development of Core software and cloud infrastructure, ensuring proper hardware management in coordination with the IT team.

Essential Functions
  • Supervise software engineering activities at the mHealth Core.
  • Assist mHealth Core users in optimizing the use of tools and technologies, supporting current research projects and proposal development.
  • Monitor technological advancements, advise on necessary purchases, and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Engage with industry partners for research projects, assist users with project budgets, and manage Core service lines efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities for staffing and instrumentation, maintain lab documentation, and ensure a safe operating environment.
  • Implement Good Clinical Practice measures for study management and coordination, attending advisory meetings as required.
  • Collaborate with CH2P and IALS staff to coordinate internship programs.
Other Functions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Computer Science or related field) with over five years of mHealth experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of scientific research methods and human health assessments.
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
  • Experience in academic research settings and familiarity with Core Facilities.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
  • Standard lab environment.
Work Schedule
  • Full-time position: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
