Job Title: AmeriCorps Volunteer - RASOR Coordinator

The AmeriCorps volunteer will play a key role as a coordinator for the Rural Alaska Students in One Health Program, a partnership funded by NIH. This collaboration involves the University of Alaska Southeast, regional tribal organizations, the Sitka Sound Science Center, and local high schools, aiming to offer students under-represented in biomedical science genuine community-based research experiences and college readiness.
Joining the AmeriCorps community, you will contribute to a variety of tasks, including:
- Serving as the primary RASOR coordinator
- Updating website and social media with program-specific news and photos
- Supporting the Ocean Science Bowl quiz competition for high school students
- Engaging remotely with students for coursework, research, tutoring, and mentoring
- Assisting in developing course and promotional materials
- Managing data and facilitating student internships
- Collaborating on fieldwork and equipment maintenance
- Childcare assistance (if eligible)
