Summary of Responsibilities of the Life Enrichment/Activities Director
The Life Enrichment/Activities Director is accountable for organizing, planning, and leading activity programs aimed at enhancing the well-being of residents in assisted living, assisting the Wellness Director with resident-related matters, and fostering a supportive and enjoyable lifestyle for residents. The Life Enrichment/Activities Director reports to the Executive Director.

Key Duties of the Life Enrichment/Activities Director

  • Familiar with and follows state regulations and company policies regarding activities.
  • Completes My Life Story for each resident in collaboration with residents and families to create tailored activity programs meeting individual needs.
  • Ensures a well-rounded program with activities catering to social, emotional, recreational, spiritual, educational, and physical needs.
  • Plans and executes activities, creates monthly calendars, and manages expenses efficiently.
  • Coordinates council meetings, develops transportation programs, and supports community marketing efforts.
  • Manages volunteer programs, collaborates with other departments, and oversees pet care within the community.
  • Supervises Life Enrichment Assistants, participates in training, and maintains relevant certifications.

Aditional Responsibilities of the Life Enrichment/Activities Director

  • Participates in onboarding new associates in the Life Enrichment segment.
  • Supports resident-centered activity programs, engages in projects or committees, and attends required meetings.
  • Assists with various tasks involving residents as needed.

Requirements, Skills, and Experience

  • Degree or experience in Human Services, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, or Art Therapy preferred.
  • Completion of state-required training for Life Enrichment Directors.
  • Minimum of one year working with seniors.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Arts and crafts proficiency, musical abilities, and familiarity with Wellness Programming are advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, leadership, and flexibility.
  • Physical capability to sit, stand, bend, lift weight, and drive as necessary.
  • Clear background check and drug screening required.
  • Valid Driver's License necessary for van transportation.
