Duties

The Chief, Facilities Management is faced with rewarding challenges such as:

The Correctional Service of Canada (Atlantic region) is looking for motived individuals who have a continual improvement and client service mindset to lead maintenance teams in Federal Correctional institutions.

The Maintenance Managers lead teams of supervisors, maintenance specialists and trades (plumbers, electricians, millwrights, mechanics, building technicians, Heating plant operators, etc.) in a challenging and dynamic environment with emphasis on security, health & safety and resources efficiency.

Their teams provide corrective and preventive maintenance, repair and improvement services to their respective institution cluster.
Intent of the process

The Correctional Service of Canada, Atlantic Region, is creating a pool of qualified candidates for the position of Chief, Facilities Management for future and immediate vacancies.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
Possession of a Provincial Trade Certification in a building trade OR an acceptable combination of
training and experience.

EXPERIENCE
Experience in managing the maintenance activities of a large complex
(i.e. correctional institution, hospital, airport, shopping mall, university);

Experience in managing* personnel;

*Managing is defined as including human resources responsibilities, such as attendance, performance, overtime, and workload allocation.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Eligibility to obtain a license as a Professional Engineer in a province or territory of Canada.

EXPERIENCE
Experience in managing contracts;

Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS);

Experience working in a provincial or federal correctional institution.
