Level: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE); Plus 5-9 Years of Experience

Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to be responsible for design, development, implementation, analysis of the design of Mechanical Engineering systems.

A. Essential Functions:

  • Perform engineering design evaluations and lead project engineering design, specific to Mechanical and Plumbing Engineering
  • Have thorough knowledge of the applicable Building, Mechanical, and Plumbing Codes
  • Have ability to design mechanical systems, energy modeling analysis, energy code compliance calculations
  • Prepare engineering analysis of projects, to include: preliminary design, budget analysis, calculations, life cycle costs, and equipment selection
  • Prepare drawings and layouts; proficient in Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • Prepare technical construction specifications
  • Coordinate with other disciplines with both in house and outside consultants
  • Performs field observations as part of the construction quality assurance process

B. Other Functions:

a) Assist with project schedules and assign work to team as needed

b) Deliver technical presentations to internal and external audiences as required as part of the design process

c) Prepare fee calculations

d) Support training and development of staff

f) Required Certifications: BS Mechanical Engineering or BS Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis, PE License
