Position Purpose:

This role involves taking care of patients within a team, following nursing standards through the nursing process.


What you will Do:
  • Evaluate patient's needs and document responses to nursing interventions in collaboration with the team.
  • Develop and implement patient's care plan based on nursing standards and patient needs.
  • Guide patient care activities using critical thinking skills and evidence-based practice.
  • Provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurse and Nurse Assistant.
  • Offer learning opportunities to patients and families by assessing their needs and initiating a teaching plan.
  • Communicate patient changes to colleagues and caregivers effectively.
  • Attend departmental meetings and educational opportunities.

Department meeting attendance requirement:
80% with 50% in person if available by webinar.
  • Manage hospital resources and meet productivity expectations.
  • Support staffing needs and maintain appropriate supplies.

Hours/Schedule:
Full Time 36/hr. week, Days, 6:30am - 3:15pm. Call requirements include one 11p-7a call per week, 2 holidays per year and two 3-7p calls during the week.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate from an RN program required.
  • Current RN Licensure in the state of Iowa, or qualified multistate licensure required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Previous experience in acute care preferred.
