Position Purpose:
This role involves taking on the responsibility and accountability for providing patient care alongside a multidisciplinary team. It entails using the nursing process and upholding professional nursing standards.
What you will Do:
- Evaluate the patient's overall needs and document their responses to nursing interventions, collaborating with the team to achieve desired outcomes.
- Develop and implement patient care plans based on nursing practice standards, health center policies, and patient/family requirements.
- Direct patient care activities using critical thinking skills and evidence-based practices.
- Provide guidance to Nurse Assistants and facilitate learning opportunities for patients and families.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and caregivers about patient conditions.
- Attend departmental meetings and educational sessions.
Department Meeting Attendance Requirement:
80% attendance with 50% in person if available by webinar.
- Serve as a steward for the hospital's resources, meeting productivity expectations and supporting staffing needs across multiple units as necessary.
Hours/Schedule:
Full Time role with 36hrs per week, Night shifts from 7pm - 7:30am, every other holiday, every third weekend.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active RN licensure in Iowa or qualified multi-state license.
- Graduate of an accredited RN program.
- Preferably holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Previous experience in acute care is a plus but not mandatory.
- Will provide training to new RN graduates.
