The Role

The Project Geologist interacts directly with our clients to identify challenges and provide solutions that will undoubtedly benefit their operations.

This position supports new clients testing the software pre-purchase to experienced users in need of technical assistance, training, or project aid, ensuring our clients feel valued and well-supported.

By being an investigator and a troubleshooter, this role offers sales support and technical expertise through integrated solutions awareness, analysis, and rapid response.

The project geologist is on the path to achieving an advanced level of expertise in the workflows facilitated by Leapfrog Works and Central for efficient, precise model building and stakeholder collaboration.

Furthermore, this role will have the chance to broaden their skills by supporting the software development teams situated in New Zealand.

While based in Vancouver, this role remains part of the global Technical Services team, responsible for understanding our clients' worldwide needs and covering various time zones.

Approximately 10% of your monthly time may involve travel and training delivery in Canada, USA, and Mexico.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Share your expert-level product knowledge, workflows, and integrated solutions with new and existing users in the Environmental and Civil sector.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities, provide product demonstrations, understand customer needs, set trial expectations, and develop implementation plans for success.
  • Act as the regional technical advocate for Seequent's Environmental and Civil portfolio, including providing internal training to staff members.
  • Utilize Seequent's information platforms to comprehend clients' portfolio, user diversity, and managerial structure within their organizations.
  • Offer remote technical support and assist users with examples.
  • Conduct various user support interactions, such as face-to-face, web, and email, ensuring successful resolutions.
  • Proactively engage with users via web or in-person to conduct a user health check and implement software upgrades.
Keep client accounts in CRM updated to provide the latest information to anyone accessing the client's data.
  • Deliver training sessions on Leapfrog Works and Central, averaging 1-2 sessions per month lasting 3-4 days each.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction levels actively and strive for improved outcomes and customer perceptions.
  • While not directly involved in software development, act as the voice of the customer in North America.

To excel in this role, you should possess:
  • University Degree in Engineering, Geoscience, or Geology, BSc, or MSc.
  • 3-4 years or more work experience in Environmental Sciences or Civil Engineering.
  • High-level experience using Leapfrog Works and 3D Geological Modelling.
  • Interest in being a course creator, instructor, and troubleshooter.
  • Preferable background in Environmental or Civil Engineering.
  • Strong interpersonal skills fostering solid working relationships.
  • Tenacity, persistence, and enthusiasm for problem-solving.
  • Proven team player with a self-starting mentality, capable of working independently and managing workload efficiently.
  • Authorized to work in the required country and available for global travel.
  • Residence in Vancouver, Toronto, or Denver for job purposes.
  • Fluency in English, with French and Spanish knowledge considered a plus.
