Department Profile

The Wound Care Clinic at Duke Regional Hospital caters to patients with chronic and difficult-to-heal wounds. Offering specialized care for various wound types, including pressure injuries, venous ulcers, and surgical wounds, the clinic ensures comprehensive wound management for patients.

Certified Medical Assistants are eligible for a $5,000 commitment bonus

Shift Information

Full-time position with five 8-hour shifts

Monday to Friday schedule with off on weekends and holidays

Occ Summary

As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role within the healthcare team, delivering direct patient care. Your responsibilities will involve both administrative tasks and patient care duties to support medical professionals in providing quality care and ensuring clinic operations run efficiently.

Work Performed

As a Medical Assistant, you will manage the clinic's daily schedule, interact with patients, assist in medical procedures, conduct basic laboratory tests, educate patients on their care plan, and maintain accurate patient records. Additionally, you may handle prescription tasks, administer medications, and assist in other clinical and administrative duties under supervision.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required skills include good customer service, basic medical knowledge, understanding of medical procedures, infection control practices, and effective communication. Experience in clinical settings is beneficial, and familiarity with medical terminology and clinic operations is advantageous.

For each level of experience, completion of a medical assistant program is preferred, along with a high school or GED diploma as a minimum requirement.

Experience

Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

Required certifications include AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
