About the Job:

The Enhanced Registrar plays a crucial role in providing exceptional care to customers through professional and courteous service. This position involves registering patients across multiple service lines and ensuring accurate input of demographic, financial, and clinical information.



  • Verifies accuracy of EMPI link and identifies/report possible linking problems and Identity Theft.
  • Interacts with patients/representatives to gather, verify, and input patient demographic, insurance, and essential admission information accurately into a database.
  • Registers patients for multiple service lines within a facility using appropriate patient service types.
  • Provides explanation of legal documents in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Completes financial screening questions to identify potential funding sources.
  • Conducts financial discussions with patients regarding copays, insurance benefits, and financial assistance.
  • Coordinates with physician offices and patients on insurance benefit maximization.
  • Responds to patient queries regarding billing processes and provides necessary guidance.
  • Maintains quality and productivity stats while potentially training new employees.
  • Understands the facility and patient process to provide a positive check-in experience.
  • Addresses admitting reports and Case Mix errors while supporting hospital-specific patient engagement initiatives.
  • Supports the facility to achieve desired NRI National Research Institute and HCHAPS standard.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Three years of customer service experience in the last five years.
  • Negotiation or collection experience in the last three years.
  • Demonstrated typing proficiency and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Registration experience on Tandem or iCentra.
  • Data entry or clerical experience in a medical office setting.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.

Physical Requirements:
  • Interaction with others, requiring effective communication.
  • Operation of computers and office equipment.
  • Ability to see and read computer monitors and documents.
  • Ability to remain sitting or standing for extended periods.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 35
