Summary of Function: Provides custodial cleaning and building servicessupport in campus facilities following established procedures. Responsible foroverseeing that the facilities in our workplace are maintained well.

Typical Duties:
  • Serves Students. Functions as a member of a Team Cleaning Section in accomplishing the following daily tasks: clean floors & carpets, wash windows & mirrors, dust office & classroom space, empty & dispose of trash, change light tubes, and clean & sanitize restrooms. Restocks restrooms and other facilities with paper, sanitary, and other appropriate supplies.
  • Participate in special event setups including moving furniture and other equipment to requested locations and cleaning the facility after use.
  • Participate in major cleaning projects to include residence halls annual rehabilitation. custodial standard semiannual and annual tasks.
  • Work special events at the Schoening Conference Center, Veteran's Stadium and other venues as scheduled.
  • Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent or 1-year experience in commercial cleaning
Preferred:
  • One or more years of experience inthe operation of floor buffer, shampooer, and vacuum cleaner
  • Two or more years of experience incommercial cleaning
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License
Classification:
  • Non-Exempt
Position Type & Work Schedule:
  • Full-time, 8hrs a day, 5 days aweek.
  • Must be available for overtime whennecessary.
  • May need to work for emergencysituations including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to selecting and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work professionally as a member of a team in a fast-paced, diverse, deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to climb ladders and access roofs
Work Environment:
  • Indoor work with some outdoor work.
  • Exposure to chemicals daily.
  • Noise level may be louder at timesdue to machinery.
Physical Demands:
  • Bending, sitting, kneeling, walkingdaily
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Repeat same movements.
  • Climb ladders
  • Bend or twist their body.
Travel:
  • May travel to other college campuses.

  • Position requires to have proof ofHepatitis B vaccination or have taken the vaccine either prior toemployment or during the first week of work if hired. (AWC will providethe HEPATITIS VACCINATION on the first week of work.)
