Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, and specialty drinks, following established recipes and standards.
  • Operate espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other equipment with precision and efficiency.
  • Provide friendly and attentive customer service, welcoming guests, taking orders, and addressing inquiries or concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the coffee bar, equipment, and seating areas.
  • Monitor and restock coffee supplies, including coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients.
  • Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
  • Upsell additional items such as pastries, snacks, and merchandise to enhance the customer experience.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and timely service during peak hours.
  • Attend training sessions and stay informed about coffee trends, new products, and brewing techniques.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including processing payments and providing change.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service role, preferably in a coffee shop or cafe setting.
  • Passion for coffee and a desire to learn about different coffee varieties, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a fastpaced environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of espresso machine operation and basic coffee preparation techniques is preferred but not required.
  • Food handler's permit or willingness to obtain one upon hire.
