Summary:

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for purchasing raw materials, supplies, equipment, and services required for the company's chemical manufacturing operations. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring a reliable and cost-effective supply chain while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Serving as the liaison between Sourcing Manager, internal stakeholders, and supplier operations to manage day to day procurement transactions, operations of raw materials, inbound logistics, and overall optimization of the supply chain network.

Act as the first direct procurement contact for urgent supply issues and orders for internal stakeholders located at multiple manufacturing locations.

Evaluating the best suppliers for raw material procurement based on key metrics such as quality, cost, delivery times, and compliance with environmental and safety standards.

Managing and scheduling delivery dates while understanding relevant internal stakeholder needs to ensure smooth timely delivery, smooth operations and no supply gaps.

Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and projects that deliver overall efficiency gains.

Basic reporting of procurement activities to internal and external stakeholders to analyze spend data and identify opportunities for cost savings or process improvements.

Creating and maintaining procurement entries in the ERP system (SAP) in a fast-paced working environment.

To be successful in this role you must:

Have a minimum of 2 years procurement experience of chemical raw materials or similar (purchase order data entry, vendor selection, logistics etc).

Have strong organization, communication, and negotiation skills to create and manage multiple workstreams while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.

Have prior experience with SAP Subject matter expert for SAP Procurement processes and transactions.

Ability to work with varying seniority levels including staff, managers, vendors.

Basic understanding in respect to changing global markets.

Education & Experience:

Preferred Four Year Degree with focus on supply chain, procurement, chemistry and/or business or equivalent Industry experience

A minimum of 2 4 years experience in procurement tasks in a manufacturing setting preferably the chemical industry, oil and gas, or related field.

High-level knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)

Must have experience working with SAP.
