Job Title: Fund Accountant

Job Purpose:

Cerberus is on the lookout for a Fund Accountant to bolster its Direct Lending division, specifically within Cerberus Business Finance, the company's primary investment domain based on asset size. The role within the Fund Accounting team involves maintaining the financial records of multiple funds in compliance with GAAP standards, serving as a vital link among various departments like Front Office, Operations, Financial Reporting, and more.

Responsibilities & Deliverables:

  • Ensure precision in monthly NAVs by reviewing reconciliations, trading PNL, and accruals
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements for various funds
  • Contribute to year-end audited financial statements and related footnotes
  • Oversee fund accounting, reporting, and analysis, engaging in special projects and enhancing product knowledge
  • Liaise with third-party administrators and collaborate with internal departments
  • Address investor relations queries promptly
  • Enhance and manage accounting and financial systems and procedures

Key Requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years of experience in Public Accounting (with a focus on Financial Services) or a blend of public/private roles
  • CPA certification is a must
  • Expertise in accounting aspects related to private equity funds, including capital allocation and fee calculations
  • Knowledge of fixed income products, particularly loan origination, bank debt, and CLO structures
  • Experience with financial software tools like Wall Street Office and Visual Portfolio Manager is advantageous
  • Strong technical accounting acumen
  • Effective team player with great attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)

The salary range for this role is anticipated to be between $100,000.00 and $130,000.00, commensurate with the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications. Additionally, in addition to the base salary, this position offers eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus, which generally forms a noteworthy part of the compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package.
