Position Highlights:
  • Lead the Activities team, overseeing the development of a comprehensive program for patients, including evening and weekend activities, holiday celebrations, and major events (post-pandemic).
  • Ensure timely completion of assessments, care plans, and related documentation.
  • Conduct monthly Resident Council meetings.
  • Supervise activities assistants, handling training, scheduling, and other related tasks.
  • Manage the center's volunteer program, covering recruitment, training, scheduling, and acknowledgment of volunteers.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines for programming.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance community marketing efforts.
  • Perform any other assigned duties as needed.
Other essential skills include:
  • Effective communication and time management abilities.
  • Capability to collaborate with various departments to boost staff morale.
  • Experience in event planning.
  • Basic typing and computer proficiency.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Publisher, particularly for creating monthly calendars, newsletters, and marketing materials.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university OR
  • Two years of college education OR
  • At least two years of experience in long-term care focusing on activities and memory care.
  • Past involvement in a healthcare environment, with dementia care experience being advantageous.
