Job Title: Art Teacher

Job Summary: Teachers at Archway Programs play a crucial role in organizing educational programs tailored to student IEPs. They use artistic activities to promote individual development in perceptual and social/emotional behavior, ensuring consistent and personalized services to students.

Salary: Starting at $57000 / Annually - depending on education / experience

Responsibilities:

  • Encourages individuals and groups to express themselves through art, fostering self- expression, fine motor skills, cognitive, and social development
  • Introduces art media and techniques for decision making, sensory experimentation, and integration
  • Develops effective classroom management systems
  • Organizes classroom environment and lessons to meet student needs
  • Utilizes appropriate art methods and materials to support student success
  • Orders and manages art supplies and equipment
  • Organizes art centers and displays student work
  • Maintains progress reports to evaluate student growth, behavior, and needs
  • Builds parent-teacher-student relationships
  • Submits lesson plans weekly to the principal
  • Handles classroom discipline with a focus on positive self-growth
  • Attends yearly Primary Restraint Technique (PRT) training
  • Performs any assigned miscellaneous duties

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1 year of experience
  • NJ Teaching Certification
  • Preferred experience with children, art skills, and communication skills
