Job Summary

The Principal Data Architect is responsible for developing, communicating, and delivering the Data Strategy for Finance and Accounting Management business domain that enable business teams, IT teams, and external partners. Enables operational excellence through the establishment and execution of Data Management and Data Governance principles. Lead continuous improvement in solution performance, reliability, compliance, and efficiency. Consistently develops and grows expertise in Data Management, Data Quality and enabling technologies.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage the design and evolution of the enterprise Data Strategy,DataManagement and Governance.
  • Manage the delivery of the Data Strategy and Data Architecture solutions across the Vistra eco system incorporating multiple business units and locations, third party contractors and Managed service providers.
  • Communicate the Data Strategy across IT, the business, and external partners.
  • Provide technical expertise in the architecture, design, implementation and maintenance of data assets that support business operations and analytics.
  • Data risk management to avoid data loss, manage access to data in a responsible way, and ensure that data quality is trustworthy and fit for purpose, i.e. accountable for theintegrity of data, data designs, data security architecture and associated controls.
Education, Experience & Skill Requirements
  • 12+ years minimum of progressive experience in the design and creation of complex Data Architecture solutions for diverse applications.
  • Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications in InformationSystems, ComputerScience, Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Modeling, etc.
  • Expertise in designing solutions for structured and unstructured data.
  • Expertise designing scalable data architecture to support both batch and real-timedataproductsand platforms using best-in-classdata technologies suchasrelationaldatabases,data integration, and cloud technologies(AWS, Azure, clouddata warehouse, etc.) for acontinuously changing digitallandscape.
  • Expertise designing and implementing securityand access controls toincludemaskingandencryptions,object tagging,role-based access with row and columnlevel security.
  • Expertise in developing and managing metadata.
  • Expertise creating Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models that integrate withexisting or proposed database structures.
  • Expertise with Data Quality approaches and tools including the ability to perform dataprofiling.
  • Expertise with Master Data Management (MDM) concept, tools and practices.
  • Strong Leadership, communication and executive presentation skills; ability tocommunicate wellto both technical and business audiences.

  • Continuous Improvement: Increased cost efficiency in solution delivery.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Hands on experience in design and delivery of Data warehouse projects in Finance and Accounting domain
  • SAP S/4 Hana (Finance and Accounting) experience is preferred
  • Strong data warehousing and data modeling concepts are required
  • Hands on experience with ETL/ELT framework design and development is required
