We are looking for a skilled Operations Manager to join Farmshop, responsible for ensuring effective procurement, maintaining high health and safety standards, and optimizing inventory management. Collaborating closely with vendors, retail managers, and delivery teams, you will lead process enhancements and cultivate a positive work atmosphere. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented and devoted to achieving operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Management:

Manage vendor relationships to guarantee timely and cost-effective procurement of top-quality ingredients and materials.

Continuously assess vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and explore opportunities for cost efficiency and enhanced sourcing.

  • Operational Strategy:

Identify operational hurdles and devise strategies to boost efficiency, productivity, and streamline procedures.

Supervise food storage and inventory management to ensure quality, freshness, and cost-efficiency.

  • Safety and Compliance:

Prioritize and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations to upkeep a safe working environment for all staff members.

Conduct regular training to cultivate a safety-conscious culture and prevent accidents.

Ensure a secure and hazard-free physical environment at the commissary and DTLA facility.

Oversee office opening and closure procedures, ensuring adherence to all security protocols and equipment maintenance.

  • Distribution and Logistics:

Coordinate and optimize product distribution processes for prompt deliveries to retail outlets and customers.

Manage corporate, commissary, and retail shipments, including creating shipping labels and handling logistics.

Monitor shipments and address any issues to maintain a smooth distribution flow.

Supervise and assist delivery drivers, overseeing their performance and promptly addressing issues with the Director of Pastry Operations.

  • Maintenance:

Develop and execute a preventive maintenance program for all vehicles, machinery, and equipment.

Coordinate repairs and maintenance with external service providers when needed.

  • Collaboration and Customer Satisfaction:

Collaborate with retail managers to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Offer guidance to managers for precise product forecasting and ordering to maintain optimal inventory levels.

Assist with custom orders to meet specific customer requirements, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

Maintain a prompt response system for product inquiries and issue resolution for retail stores.

Ensure all product orders are processed accurately and efficiently, reducing discrepancies.

  • Process Enhancement and Industry Trends:

Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in commissary and retail operations.

Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, integrating relevant advancements into the organization's operations.

Maintain precise inventory records using XtraChef.

  • Employee Management:

Accurately track and record employee attendance utilizing Toast.

Promote a positive work culture fostering teamwork, efficiency, and employee engagement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in operations management, preferably in the food industry or retail sector.
  • Fluent in written and verbal Spanish; non-negotiable.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production and handling.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a history of building and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills for well-informed decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, effectively managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing needs.
  • Proficiency in technology and systems for inventory management, point-of-sale, and operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with team members, customers, and vendors.
  • Professional and responsible demeanor.
  • Proficient in MS Office and time management software.
