Summary: The role of Operations Excellence Partner is to foster growth and maintain a culture of Continuous Improvement at Baystate Health by leading initiatives, driving change, and providing coaching and training. The Operations Excellence Business Partner plays a key role in supporting the organization's dedication to revolutionizing healthcare delivery through process enhancement and innovation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Initiates, identifies, and coordinates analysis of complex client needs in project areas such as new and existing business operating models, innovative solution approaches, and healthcare intelligence.
  • Independently collects, validates, and analyzes data, synthesizing information to make recommendations that align with project objectives.
  • Conducts analysis related to the flow of people, materials, and information, employee work methods, staffing needs, and system design.
  • Utilizes advanced engineering techniques such as operational research, mathematical modeling, and Lean Six Sigma methodology.
  • Leads effective change management efforts, facilitates working sessions with stakeholders, and partners with leaders to achieve project goals.
  • Delivers training to enhance colleagues' capabilities for continuous improvement and provides coaching on process enhancement tools and techniques.
  • Defines performance metrics, evaluates process success, and serves as a professional representative of the Operations Excellence team.
  • Ability to create process maps, workflow diagrams, and graphical representations of complex metrics.

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality, Business or related field. Consideration for a master's prepared clinical professional with proven experience in team facilitation, performance improvement, or project management.

Preferred Education: Master's degree

Required Work Experience: Three or more years of experience applying process improvement methodologies in a complex environment.

Preferred Work Experience: Relevant experience in healthcare systems or medical practices.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Understanding of healthcare industry operations and Lean Six Sigma tools.
  • Experience in change management principles and leading sustainable change.
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Capacity to adapt work style based on project needs and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in statistical and data visualization tools like Excel, Tableau, and Visio.
