Job Summary:

Monroe Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The SLP will work with students of all ages to diagnose, treat, and help prevent communication and swallowing disorders. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping children achieve their full potential and possess the skills necessary to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs and school policies.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in individual or group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to support student progress and integrate speech-language goals into the classroom environment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and therapy sessions.
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and objectives.
  • Conduct screenings and assessments to identify students in need of speech-language services.
  • Stay current with best practices, research, and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
  • Provide training and support to school staff and parents on speech-language development and strategies to support communication needs.
Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Valid Georgia state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Professional Standards Commission (PSC) Certification in Speech-Language Pathology for the state of Georgia.
  • Experience working in a school setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently.
Required Licensure and Certifications:
  • State Licensure: Must hold a valid Speech-Language Pathology license issued by the Georgia Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
  • Professional Certification: Must possess the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Educator Certification: Must hold a valid Speech and Language Pathology Service (S-5) Certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC).
