Position Summary:

The Resource Specialist supports patients and clinic teams by performing necessary duties to ensure patients' needs are met prior to, during, and after a clinic visit. This includes pre-visit data/record collection, entering medical records/orders, completing prior authorization and patient forms, as well as identifying/ordering/stocking clinic supplies, equipment, medication, and vaccines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of medical/clinic experience with scheduling responsibility
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations

Preferred:

  • 1 year experience working in Epic
  • Medical Terminology knowledge

Essential Job Functions:

In addition to the essential job functions listed, employees must complete all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

  • Schedule/Fax/phone/mail/data entry/order for patient packets, medical records, referrals, paperwork, forms, and letters
  • Order Wellness labs and send out patient paperwork
  • Complete prior authorization for imaging, procedures, and prescriptions
  • Coordinate Patient Assistance Program for clinic patients
  • Order/stock clinic supplies, lab supplies, medications, immunizations, and manage VFC

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling:
    Lift 30 pounds of weight and carry equipment/supplies
  • Extended Hours:
    May involve sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily
  • Flexible Schedule:
    May necessitate working beyond a standard workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts
  • On-Call Availability:
    May be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs
  • Effective Communication:
    Proficient in communication through various technologies
  • Handling Challenging Situations:
    Ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with upset individuals
  • Repetitive Tasks:
    Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed
